Wardrobe Late-baroque 1790 Walnut

Restored Baroque linen wardrobe , constructed from a combination of solid oak and walnut (varnished), dating to approximately 1790. The wardrobe is in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of use. The four main panels feature rich marquetry depicting figures of saints or virtues; the subtle shading on these figures was achieved using the traditional hot sand technique. The side pilasters and lower drawers are decorated with floral motifs and ornamental banding. The distinctive curved, raised pediment is characteristic of Baroque hall wardrobes from Southern Germany and Austria. Demountable (8 parts).
