Musical range: The extra-wide brass cylinder plays a total of 12 different melodies (airs). The original, calligraphically decorated melody sheet in the lid has been preserved and features pieces by famous composers (including Verdi, Bellini, and Gounod).
Visible percussion:
10 bells: These are struck by finely crafted bee-shaped hammers (cast brass components). A visual highlight at any performance!
Drum: An integrated drum with 8 hammers is located in the center, adding rhythmic depth to the sound.
Case: The case is richly veneered with fine woods (burl/rosewood) and features delicate marquetry on the lid and front.
Provenance: Distributed by the renowned firm of Nathan & Co., Birmingham (see original label).
Condition: The music box is in very good, collectible condition. The case has a beautiful patina. The mechanism works, the combs are complete, and the bell and drum functions can be activated.
